We believe that people are doing the best that they can in their lives. As
psychologists, our job is to help people to use what they already know,
plus whatever we can discover together, to live more fully, live more
happily and live with enhanced capacity to accomplish their own goals.
We also believe
that people are social beings. We are all individuals, and yet we also
live our lives entirely within complex, interlocking networks of relationships
and communities. More and more, research is showing that our abilities
to have mutually satisfying relationships with others relates not only
to our psychological well-being and satisfaction, but also to our physical
health, resilience in the face of obstacles and longevity. Even those
who have lacked a sufficiently nurturing social or familial environment
can still learn to find or create such nurturance in their lives.
For this
reason, we are dedicated to helping people to enhance their social, couple
and family relationships.
